Who We Are

Nine full-time officers, on duty around the clock.

The department is staffed by nine full-time sworn officers: seven patrol officers and one investigator, led by the Police Captain, who serves as division commander. Officers work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to reduce crime, conduct investigations, enforce North Carolina law and local ordinances, and serve the community.

Command Staff

Captain Stan Wilson

Captain Wilson, the patrol division commander, brings more than 30 years of law enforcement experience across a range of operational, investigative, supervisory, and administrative roles at multiple agencies.

His background includes work as a gang unit officer, a person and property crimes investigator, and a drug investigator, as well as service as a community policing sergeant focused on building relationships between officers and residents. He has also served as a civil deputy, patrol sergeant, and administration sergeant, overseeing daily operations, scheduling, personnel, and policy.

As a command-level leader, Captain Wilson emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and clear communication, along with ethical policing, officer development, and public trust through transparency and community engagement.
