A weekly in-person visit for residents 65 and older who live alone.
The Senior Wellness Check Program is a community service of the Lake Royale Company Police Department for residents age 65 or older who live alone and would welcome a weekly in-person visit from an officer. It supports the safety and well-being of participants and reflects the department's commitment to community-oriented policing.
Each week an officer knocks and announces themselves. If you come to the door, the officer will check on your general well-being, make sure you appear safe, and confirm there is nothing you need help with.
When reasonably possible, the officer will listen for sounds of distress or movement, and may check the outside of the home or speak with nearby neighbors about any concern for your safety.
The officer will act as the situation calls for, which may include phoning your emergency contact, requesting emergency medical help, or investigating further under department policy.
The department will make every reasonable effort to complete weekly visits. Staffing limits, emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally prevent a scheduled visit.
